Established 50 years ago, as one of the first locally owned insurance companies, Tatil continues the business of building relationships and futures through the provision of insurance security to the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. With an asset base that doubled within the last five years to over $ 2 billion; the most expansive portfolio of General, Life and Investment related products and services available; as well as an unsurpassed ability to maintain its record of best underwriting profits with the general insurance industry. Tatil remains not only a leader, but a dynamic and innovative force.

In 2004, Tatil merged with ANSA Merchant Bank Limited resulting in the consolidation of the financial services sector of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies, one of the Caribbean’s largest conglomerates. As part of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies, Tatil remains among the top producers in the Group. Tatil promises to continue with determination and strength in our quest to establish our position “as the partner of choice for financial security.”

Where people are people. You know what I mean.

The Tatil Building

The Tatil building, Trinidad’s first skyscraper, was the brainchild of Louis G. Rostant, Tatil’s first Managing Director. Construction began on the building in July 1972 and was completed within the two year target, at a cost of TT$ 8.2 million

The Tatil Logo

The Samaan Tree, reflected in Tatil’s original logo was in reality the Samaan Tree in the visitor’s car park on the southern side of the building. At the time of construction of the Tatil building, the tree, which was over 150 years old, was preserved at great cost and upon completion of the building in 1974 the outline of the building was incorporated into the logo design.
